Chemical Name:Acetylsalicylic acid, 2-Acetoxybenzoic acid

Trade Name: Aspirin

Introduction:

Aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid is a common painkiller applied for wide varieties of aches and pains such as muscle aches, toothache, headache, sprain, strain, period pain and long-term conditions, such as arthritis and migraine. Aspirin is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
This product can also be used for treatment of cold and “flue like” symptoms such as fever. Sometimes, this compound is found as a combination with other ingredients in some cold and flu remedies. It may also be used to reduce swelling in conditions such as arthritis.
Aspirin is also recognized as a blood thinner. The daily use of low-dose aspirin can suppress the risk of cardiovascular events in people with a high risk. However, it is not safe for everyone and it must be used under supervision of a physician.
It exists not only as a synthetic product but also a compound found in plants such as the willow tree and myrtle.
