Chemical Name:

Sorbitan Ester Polyethylene Glycol Ether

Trade Name:

KEPS 20

Introduction:

Polysorbates are oily liquids produced by ethoxylation of sorbitan esterified with fatty acids. All of them have 20 ethylene oxide units in their molecule. The number following the name of polysorbate is related to the type of fatty acid associated with the polyoxyethylene sorbitan part of the molecule.

General Applications:

This compound is used as wetting agent and dispersant for actives such as calamine, menthol and phenol, solubiliser for oil soluble vitamins, essential oils, perfumes in aqueous and aqueous alcoholic systems and flavours in mouthwashes, O/W emulsifier, mildness additive in detergent systems, water soluble emollient and barrier repair agent in cleansing products.
