Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylates (pharmaceutical)

Chemical Name:
Cetostearyl Alcohol Polyethylene Glycol Ether
Trade Names:
KECAT
Introduction:

Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylates (KECATs) are alkyl polyethylene glycol ethers derived from Cetostearyl Fatty Alcohols (C16-C18), which are mixed of molecules varying in the number of repeating ethoxy groups. The digit which is appeared after the name of KECAT shows the average number of ethylene oxide units in the Cetostearyl Alcohol molecule. For example, KECAT 2 means a Cetostearyl alcohol molecule which is reacted with average two molecules of ethylene oxide.

Different grades:
KECAT 2, KECAT 20
General Applications:

Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylates mainly fined application as emulsifier and co-emulsifier in personal care formulations. They make stable emulsions which do not break easily.
