2-Ethylhexanol Ethoxylates
2-Ethylhexanol Ethoxylates are nonionic surfactants which are such as all kinds of other nonionic surfactants mixtures varying in the number of repeating ethoxy groups and free alcohol. The digit which is appeared after the name of KEMUD shows the average number of ethylene oxide units in the 2-Ethylhexanol Ethoxylates molecule. For example, KEMUD-9 means a 2-ethylhexanol molecule which is reacted with average nine molecules of ethylene oxide.
2-Ethylhexanol Ethoxylate is mainly used in the formulation of drilling mud. 2-Ethylhexanol Ethoxylate is also a very low foaming surfactant with defoaming properties on protein foam, so it could be used in dishwashing machine and metal cleaning formulations. It has a good cleaning effect on hard surfaces and is intended for use in water based alkaline cleaners.
